Moving to Serverless Technology

Writer's picture: eServiceseServices

Over the last couple of years, we have been in the process of moving our supported schools to a cloud-based setup and management using Microsoft Intune. This is a cloud-based service that allows for the management of school devices, apps, and data without the need for a server. This has allowed flexibility and adaptability for schools, while laying the foundations for new ways of working and collaborating.

Most of our schools are now at a stage where only a few services still require "on site servers". This reduction greatly reduces the impact of a serious server-based issue affecting the school.

These schools also benefit from:

  • Reduced Costs: Money is saved on hardware, maintenance, and electricity by eliminating the need for a server. Then schools only pay for what you use and can scale up or down as needed.

  • Increased Security: The cloud can protect data and devices from cyberattacks, viruses, and malware by using Microsoft's advanced security features and encryption. We can also remotely wipe or lock devices in case of theft or loss.

  • Enhanced Productivity: IT operations can be streamlined, and downtime reduced by using Microsoft's reliable and fast cloud service. Using the latest technology, it is also possible to automate tasks, update devices, and deploy apps with ease.

We are proud to work with Microsoft to offer this innovative solution to our school clients.
